Regional Initiative to Accelerate Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) Deployment: Technical Assistance for Large-Scale Storage Facilities and Regional Carbon Management Hubs

State
DC
Description
As mentioned, the DOE supports four currently active RI Projects that provide technical assistance on geologic carbon storage issues throughout the U.S. Due to the expected rapid growth in CCS and storage-based carbon dioxide removal (CDR) projects, this FOA is seeking to augment these existing efforts by creating new technical assistance and public engagement projects that more tightly align with the nation’s storage resources and communities. This tighter geographical focus will help to ensure greater success and public acceptance of government supported initiatives like the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) funded CarbonSAFE Initiative, CCS demos, hydrogen production w/CCS hubs, and direct air capture (DAC) hubs with CO2 storage, as well as private sector projects.
