SF Environment seeks to engage community members in an inclusive and equity-centered way, utilizing skilled facilitators to guide conversation from the identification of needs to meaningful outcomes. The skilled facilitators will engage with SF Environment staff and external stakeholders to advance important goals related to the Department’s climate, environmental justice, and racial equity initiatives. Projects may include but are not limited to facilitating a building decarbonization taskforce, listening sessions with potential grantees, supporting the creation of an oversight committee for project applications, making meaningful connections with building industry practitioners about adaptive reuse or low carbon development, aiding in the participation of project review panels, and other important conversations. While the project assignments are varied, the selected facilitator must have experience working with community residents, especially marginalized communities, and must have a focus on ensuring equitable outcomes. SF Environment is committed to working with facilitators who excel in engaging diverse groups, ensuring that every voice is heard, valued, and respected.
