CLIMATE CHANGE VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT OF HATCHERY FACILITIES

State
WA
Description
WDFW (AGENCY) is seeking qualifications and quotations to select a team of individuals, further referred to as CONSULTANT, who will conduct a comprehensive climate change vulnerability assessment of four hatcheries. Climate change will exacerbate existing challenges to fish hatchery management across Washington state. Hatchery operations are challenged by (1) warming stream temperatures and associated increasing prevalence of disease, (2) declines in summer streamflow, (3) and increases in peak streamflow. New hatchery practices are needed to improve water quality and increase fish survival during warm periods and low summer flows. This project will identify where facilities are currently vulnerable and how to move forward in addressing climate change.
