Description
The purpose of the Bi+ Affirming Mentorship and Storytelling Lab Project is to bring together an intergenerational group of bi+ community members into a storytelling lab. The first half of the lab will consist of psychoeducation regarding mental health barriers and gaps in access for bi+ communities in Los Angeles County, explore their identities, find community and connection, build bi+ confidence, and examine and develop strategies to address their personal experiences of bi negativity, biphobia, and stigma. Through being paired with a mentor and mentee, participants will bridge intergenerational gaps in the bi+ community and learn about the history of the bi+ movement. The second half of the lab will involve participants workshopping their personal narratives into recorded stories (i.e. video, audio, short videos for social media, etc.) and/or written stories or visual art projects, depending on the comfort level of the participants
