Description
The City of Long Beach Department of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Communications is seeking proposals from experienced consultants to provide professional consulting services for the development of a Citywide Evacuation and Shelter-in Place Plan. The plan should be based on sound planning processes and account for the risks and capabilities of the City and its internal and external partners. The completed project should take a whole community approach, be inclusive of the Disabled, Access, and Functional Needs (DAFN) community and populations that are historically disproportionately affected by disasters, and consider the spectrum of potential disasters and their probabilities of impacting the City. The plan should provide for a timely and orderly full or partial evacuation, sheltering-in-place, or a mixed response, as appropriate, of the City as needed. This project will be funded through the Federal Homeland Security Grant program.
